The Fighting Irish community is heartbroken by the sudden passing of Edward Carter, beloved father of Tay and EJ Carter.

Edward passed away unexpectedly while helping EJ move into the University of Pennsylvania, where EJ is beginning the next chapter of his academic and athletic journey.

Edward was more than just a supportive parent — he was Tay and EJ’s foundation and their greatest champion. His absence leaves a tremendous void, and our hearts are with the Carter family during this incredibly difficult time.

In true Notre Dame fashion, our community has already stepped up to cover some critical expenses. In addition, a GoFundMe page has been created to provide further support to the Carter family as they face the emotional and financial challenges ahead.
