Hungry for 2026, the Irish Bring the Energy to TopGolf Chattanooga

05-12-26

Notre Dame Football families, players, and supporters packed the bays at Topgolf Chattanooga this past Saturday morning for a high-energy gathering that turned into far more than just a golf event. What started as a few hours of swings, laughs, and friendly competition quickly became another example of the momentum building around the Fighting Irish football program.

Players mixed with parents, coaches, alumni, and boosters throughout the morning, creating the kind of atmosphere that has become a trademark of Fighting Irish Nation - competitive, connected, and fun. While there were certainly a few impressive golf shots launched toward the back net, the real highlight of the morning may have happened at the breakfast buffet.

According to the Topgolf staff, the Notre Dame Football crowd set an all-time record for food consumption at a private event. Apparently, the Fighting Irish came hungry.

The Rise & Shine breakfast spread never stood a chance as players and supporters worked through mountains of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tater tots, French toast, muffins, fruit, donut holes, and enough coffee to fuel an entire offseason workout.

“It was one of the most energetic groups we’ve ever hosted, and Notre Dame Football is always welcome here at TopGolf. We hope to host you guys again in the future” the franchise manager commented as trays continued to disappear throughout the morning.

The event wasn’t just about golf or breakfast, though. It was another opportunity for the Notre Dame football community to spend time together before what many believe could be a special season for the Irish. Conversations moved from football to family to summer workouts, while younger kids ran between bays watching varsity players compete shot-for-shot.

One of the most encouraging signs surrounding the program right now is the growing sense of unity. The roster continues to grow, parent involvement is increasing, and support from alumni and boosters continues to build momentum around Coach Brent Hill’s program. Events like Saturday’s Topgolf outing may seem simple on the surface, but they matter. Winning programs are built on relationships long before Friday night lights ever come on.

And based on the amount of food consumed Saturday morning, the Fighting Irish appear to be building something strong.

The offseason continues - and so does the energy surrounding Notre Dame Football.
